Celebrating the ultimate pack leader: Happy father’s day, Adam!
With New Zealand Father’s Day landing on 6 September, the standard dad gifts are out in force: socks, barbecue tongs, and novelty mugs. But around here, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate a slightly different kind of fatherhood.
We’re raising a glass for our very own founder and Chief Dog Dad: Adam Ross.
A story built on care
If you’ve followed our journey for a while, you’ll know this whole thing didn’t start with a corporate roadmap. It started with a zoologist and superyacht chef, who, handily for us, happen to be the exact same person. After 15 years of sourcing world-class ingredients across the globe, Adam looked at how we care for our furry friend and knew pets deserved far better.
When he set out to find something good enough for his deaf Labrador, Skye, he did what any truly devoted dad would do: he dug deep, questioned the status quo, and built a better way forward himself.
The dad of the brand (and a pretty stellar crew at home)
To the outside world, Adam is the mind behind our philosophy. But to those of us on the team, he’s essentially the dad of the brand.
Of course, behind every great pack leader is an equally amazing family. Alongside his entertaining yet accident prone wife, Lizzie, and their two kids, Enzo and Arielle, they form the heart of everything we do. Quite frankly, you couldn't ask for a team with bigger hearts or a more genuine soul. Whether they're out exploring the Central Otago landscape or testing out new ideas at home, Lizzie, Enzo, and Arielle bring so much life, balance, and warmth to Naturally Pawsome. It really is a family affair in the truest sense.
The unofficial house rules
Working alongside Adam, and watching how he leads his crew, means absorbing a few core principles pretty quickly:

As a team, we feel genuinely lucky to build this brand alongside him and his beautiful family. Adam has created a space where doing right by animals isn't just a mission statement, it's the entire point. He’s the resident culinary mind, the steady hand, and the person who reminds us of every single day why authentic care matters.
So today, we’re saying a massive thank you. Thank you, Adam, for backing us, for leading with heart, and for building a brand that feels like family. Naturally Pawsome wouldn’t be what it is without your vision (and your incredible home crew) leading the pack.

Every 26th of August brings a familiar flurry of floppy ears, wet noses, and joyful tail wags to our social feeds. International Dog Day is a wonderful reminder to pause and appreciate the animals who seamlessly weave themselves into the fabric of our daily lives.
And New Zealand's most employable dog is...
