We have tried to mimic a dogs ancestral diet as much as possible while still making the food convenient.

Freeze-drying is the process of snap freezing and then removing moisture under vacuum which retains the enzymes that are destroyed when cooking is undertaken.

Freeze drying is a process where a foods nutritional composition is preserved in excellent form, while retaining most of its original properties. This allows us to feed our fur babies properly and conveniently.

The pet food is made locally in Central Otago by naturally pawsome. We freeze-dry the raw product and blend the kibble (adding more raw goodness). The kibble is made from a blend of Lamb, Rice, Kumara, Virgin Canola Oil, Flax Seed, Kelp and Green Peas. This balances the diet and adds to the fibre, nutrients, essential oils and fats. This gives our fur babies the best of both worlds.

Like humans, all fur babies are different; therefore, a transition period is recommended when embarking on a new diet. We recommend incorporating naturally pawsome into the current diet over 7 days, whereas on the 7th day, their food is 100% naturally pawsome. This allows two things: for their gut biome to adjust to the semi-raw diet, and if they have previously been eating ‘fast food’ (which is typically packed with added sugar and flavours), they may need to adjust to a natural, nutritious diet.

We source everything possible from New Zealand, with the exception of the rice. The ingredients are predominantly from the South Island, grown in a beautiful environment, and the final product is created in Central Otago, NZ.

They also contain many vitamins and essential oils, such as vitamin D, folic acid, and B vitamins. They are also packed with protein and fats, which are essential for the immune system, general wellbeing and a healthy coat.

Freeze-drying removes moisture from the ingredients, making microbial growth almost impossible. We also gently heat our freeze-dried ingredients to sterilise them without cooking them.

We endeavour to be as natural and sustainable as possible. The food is 100% naturally pawsome. We try to obtain our ingredients as locally as possible, and we vet our suppliers to obtain natural products.

Being environmentally friendly is a step-by-step process, and we are on a journey to minimise our footprint. We currently offer the %raw in reusable 5kg tubs (Wanaka and Albert Town only- April 24).

Our packages have a moisture and sunlight block to maintain freshness. To ensure the contents remain in great condition, please ensure that the package is out of direct sunlight and away from excess moisture. Once opened please use the zip lock closure to preserve freshness.

Please refer to the packaging for the feeding guidelines; this calculation is based on your fur babies' RER, which is their Resting Energy Requirement, and their body weight.

This is only a guideline and depends upon the age and activity of the fur baby (if you have a puppy or pregnant fur baby please increase the feeding) if you have a very active dog or they are growing, you should increase the feed ratio.

Naturally pawsome is suitable for all ages, but puppies require typically more food than the guidelines suggest for their body weight as they are growing fast.
